Benefits of Membership
Club membership provides you with many opportunities as a woodturner including meeting and networking with like minded woodturners, as well as furthering your knowledge and skill as a woodturner. Club members enjoy sharing their knowledge, skill and passion for this craft with others.
From time to time the club also participates in a number of exhibitions and events designed to expose others to the craft of woodturning. You are welcome our next monthly as our guest, to see a sample demonstration and learn more about us at Northern Woodturners.
A few key benefits of membership:
Monthly Meetings - 9:00 AM on the 3rd Saturday of each month in the club rooms. Meetings provide an opportunity to network with other turners and include live demonstrations focused on specific skills, techniques and projects.
Members receive a monthly newsletter by email, as well as email alerts regarding demonstrations, tools, equipment, wood and related announcements.
1 on 1 mentoring and instruction opportunities.
In person demonstrations from well recognised woodturners and other specialists in wood and turning related activities.
Membership Fees 2024/25
We have a few different categories of membership which runs for the 12 months from 1 July to 30 June.
- Full membership - you are allowed to use all the equipment in the club and attend as many sessions as you like.
- Social Membership - you are allowed to attend as many sessions as you like but you are not able to use any of the equipment in the club.
- Junior membership - you must be aged between 16 and 18 and accompanied by an adult. You are allowed to use all the equipment in the club and attend as many sessions as you like.
- 8 session pass - you are allowed to use all the equipment in the club and attend up to 8 sessions over the 1 July – 30 June period. You can purchase more than one pass if you want but they all expire on the 30th June.
All new members MUST complete the safety induction before they are allowed to attend the clubrooms and use any machinery.
All members are expected to contribute to the running of the club and attend and support important fundraising events.

- Renewing members will be considered unfinancial if they have not paid by the 31 August and will be excluded from using the clubs equipment.
- Members renewing after 31 August will pay the new member fee.
50% off membership fees for 2023/24
Christmas has come and gone, the new year is here and the club is open again and running all its normal sessions.
Our Christmas present to you is a 50% reduction in membership fees for all but the 8 pass membership, for the six months to the end of June 2024.
Come and meet us at one of our weekly workshop sessions, where you can come in for a social visit with a chat and coffee and meet the club members and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
Our workshop sessions are:
- Wednesday morning 8:00 -12:00 Noon
- Tuesday and Thursday 7:00 -10:00 PM
